DVD Stuck In Drive Of Acer…No Pin Hole

  • 5

The drive is working perfectly, but won’t open to let the dvd out. I have 4 cats and I think cat hair could be jamming the door of the dvd drive.

  1. I doubt that cat hair is jamming it. Is there any activity on the drive, lights blinking etc, like it’s trying to read the dvd? Try opening the case and make sure it’s getting power. If all else fails, remove the drive and take it apart to remove the disk and get a new one.

  2. Difficult to advise you how to open the case when there does not seem to be an illustrated user manual online. These slimline micro-desktops usually have a couple of screws located on the rear panel where the I/O connectors are located and the entire case comes off in a single piece by sliding forwards once the screws are removed. Does this look like your unit? http://www.amazon.de/Acer-Aspire-De…

If so your DVD drive does not have a flap or tray. Disks are inserted/ejected bare.
Your only option is to figure out how to take the case off.
