Mitsumi Cd-Rom Driver 6.0.6002.18005

  • 0

after upgrading from xp to vista 32-bit my cd-rom was not working. I checked the registry and no high low filters were there to delete. The next advice I received was to uninstall, reboot and should be re-installed correctly. This didn’t happen either. Have searched online for over 2 hrs for this cd-rom download but unless I go to a paysite it appears no one has it. I went to the manufacturers site and they offer no support or links for support. Please help as I need this driver download !

  1. You are looking for a driver in vain. Since DOS became obsolete, CD/DVD drive manufacturers stopped releasing their own drivers because they don’t need to – – the driver for all CD/DVD drives is built in to Windows. It’s a generic one written by Microsoft called CDROM.SYS

Double check the registry to make sure you are looking under the correct keys for upper and lower filters because I know of no other fix for your problem – even Microsoft doesn’t have any other fix for it, except uninstalling and rebooting which you’ve already tried: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

Try the “Fix It” button on that page – you don’t need to find the relevant keys in the registry with that method, the “Fix It” does it all for you.
