BIOS Flashing Without Battery

  • 0

I am trying to update my BIOS in order to fix battery, see previous thread here:

https://computing.net/answers/ha…

In short, the battery is not bad but my laptop won’t restart while the battery is plugged in. AC power works fine.

Two cases when I try to update the BIOS:

1. I try to update it with the battery plugged in causing me to get stuck at a black screen on restart.

2. I try to update it with only the AC power plugged in, causing me to be prompted for a battery.

Any ideas on how I can do this safely?

Also, would starting the installation with the battery plugged in, then unplugging it while the laptop is restarting, damage my laptop?

  1. OK, I did some searching & from what I’ve read, the S55-A5295 doesn’t have a “user replaceable” battery?

If that’s true, try doing a hard reset to fix the battery problem.
