External HP Monitor To Macbook Says Check Video Cable

using mini dvi to vga apple cable, tried 2 diff monitors…still same problem! Say’s “check video cable”….tried 2 new cables!

    1. I understand that Apple makes different cables for different models. Make sure you have the right cable for your model laptop. Just because it says mini dvi to vga doesn’t mean you have the correct cable. When you have the right cable connected, it should display immediately. Good Luck.
