It’s the weekend and I can’t get a hold of Canon repair until Monday.
I have a Canon MP280 printer and have searched the internet on a repair to reset the memory and allow my printer to work, but have only found fraudulent repair tools which reset pages in my startup. You Tube pointed me to one and it screwed me up for hours.
Anyway, the error is due to (supposedly) my pad getting full.
Any ideas or am I going to have to wait for Canon to assist on Monday?
Thanks.
After going back-and-forth with Canon’s Tech support, here’s what happened…
They suggested I buy a new replacement ink pad from their parts department, which I thought more than fair. With it would be the hardware reset hardware to reset the error..
I talked to the parts department..
Unfortunately, the MP280 was the ONLY Pixma they didn’t carry replacement ink absorbers… They were out of them. They transferred me to the Sales department where I would get a ‘significant’ discount on a new printer…
I talked to a sales manager and, although my printer was 6+ months out of warranty, CANON sent me a new printer, overnight, and I’m sending them back the MP280.
CANON treated me well, and in the end, because, although my printer was relatively new (less than 2 years) they honored the warranty after the expiration date.
I’ve used CANON printers for many years, and although this was not a “fun” experience, they came through in the end..
Advice to others… DO NOT – EVER – GO TO ONE OF THOSE P07 REPAIR DOWNLOAD SITES… Your computer will get hacked!!!
Other than that, CANON treated me more than fairly and I now have a brand new Pixma MG3500…
