Is There Any Way To Create Bootable Diskpart CD Disc?

  • 5

Is there someone here with experience creating bootable diskpart CD. I have no luck googling it (kept getting create bootable diskpart USB).

The HDD on the HP PC I am trying to fix turned unbootable after I did something stupid playing with Windows 10 Technical Preview.

I just ordered the Recovery DVD from HP. Will it work on a HDD with corrupted 100mb system partition?

Thanks

Edit: FYI: This machine does not support booting to USB drive.

  1. So you’re wondering if the corrupted 100 meg partition will interfere with the function of the recovery disks? And you’re looking for a bootable cd with diskpart on it so you can delete that partition before attempting recovery?

Possibly one of the ‘ultimate’ boot cds will have diskpart on it. Assuming you have a SATA drive you’d probably want diskpart from a version later than XP.

Another possibility is to boot with a Vista or 7 install disk and let it proceed to the point where you can delete existing partitions. Delete the partition(s), save changes and reboot with the recovery disks. There’s some links to windows 7 iso’s in my # 2 here:

if you don’t have the disk.

if you don’t have the disk.

There are 10-20 programs listed until each of those headings. For instance, under Partition Management there’s:
    Cute Partition Manager 0.9.8
    Dsrfix 3.12
    FIPS 2.0
    Free FDISK 1.3.1
    GParted 0.13.1-git
    Partinfo 1.14
    Partition Explorer 1.01
    Partition Resizer 1.3.4
    Partition Saving 4.20
    PTDD Super Fdisk 1.0
    Ranish Partition Manager 2.40
    SPFDISK (Special FDISK) 2000-03v
    XFDISK (Extended FDISK)

  3. The UBCD site lists all the software on the disk. Diskpart doesn’t appear to be there but there are plenty of other options.
