Can’t Start Deer Hunter 2005

  • 0

I downloaded the trail version to my computer so I could play the demo or trial. Everything went smoothly. But when i click the icon on my desktop it spins a moment then stops and does absolutely nothing like I never clicked it. Iv’e tried re-downloading, Iv’e tried downloading from a different site, Iv’e tried restarting the computer. I have a new Toshiba that i bought around black Friday, it has Windows 8. That is the only cause i could think of that would stop me from using it….if so…what can i do to play it and if i buy the actual game as a disc from Amazon would I have the same problem? Iv’e loved my computer and windows 8 up till now. Help!

  1. Many of the problems with games launching happen because of improper installation. Check, if there was any error during installation, try deleting the game and run the installer again, but before install don’t forget to disable antivirus – it may often mistakenly delete files during installation process. It is also important to remember that the path to the folder with a game should contain only Latin characters and numbers.

You also have to check whether there is enough space on the HDD for installation. You can also try to run the game as an administrator in compatibility mode with different versions of Windows.

  2. I know nothing about Win8. If you were asking about Win7, I’d say to right click on the game icon, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab, select WinXP SP3 compatibility mode, click Apply, then try launching the game.
