Bad Bios Checksum, After Flash Bios, Recovery Fail

  • 3

I had error when i turn my PC on everytime, that new CPU installed, Please enter setup to configure system. I enter system, load defaults, same msg after reboot. I read on another post that updating the bios will help. So i checked manufacturer website for new bios update, there was 1 and it said new CPU’s added. So thought good, that will fix my problem. Entered into Bios and flashed it. PC rebooted, then i get the msg Bad Bios Checksum. Starting Bios Recovery… Check for CD-ROM not found!, Checking for USB Device not found! and repeats checking for devices.

How do i fix this?

  1. The original problem sounds like just a bad cmos battery. Replace it if you haven’t already. Your power supply doesn’t need to be replaced. Then pray you can get into cmos/bios setup and make the necessary corrections and didn’t mess things up with a bad bios flash. Be sure to set the date and time.
