I have an iPad air. My last computer was an Asus and no problems whatsoever charging with USB. I now have a Lenovo. iPad is only charging when the battery is 96% or up. If it’s less, the iPad keeps going on and off (the charge), iTunes goes on/off and battery continues to drain. It must be the computer as the iPad charges fine on my Asus laptop. I use both at the same time so this issue MUST be resolved. The weirdest thing is that my iPod touch charges fine on this computer (Lenovo). I’m going out of my mind as I tried all fixes. I tried a (brand) new USB cable and that doesn’t work either. Any idea???

It might have been a chipset issue or possibly something to do with the usb hub/bridge etc. within the computer and its associated drivers etc? Possibly when you “reset” it all you replaced (as in installed anew) whichever bit of software (drivers?) that was not as it might or ought to have been?
Thanks for posting back too with how you “phyxed it” – doesn’t often happen…
