How To Enable Disk Controller In Bios Menu

i was installing windows 7 and when i formatted the hard i was told that ” windows cannot be installed to this disk. The computer’s hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk’s controller is enable i the computer’s BIOS menu.

  1. The message is self explanatory. Boot into the BIOS screens and verify all the drive controllers are enabled there.

    If the drive is an IDE/PATA type (wide ribbon cable) verify the jumper on the drive is set correctly.

    In addition, I have seen some motherboards that have some SATA ports that DO NOT support a bootable device. In that case you would need to connect to a port that does support bootable devices.
