Activating Monitor USB Ports

I have a Samsung monitor, model Syncmaster 2043BWX that I bought from a friend. I noticed there are two usb ports on the back of the stand. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make these active? I did not get any drivers for it. If it requires drivers where can I get them?
It would be nice to have the usb’s so I can plug my wireless mouse into them.

      That is called a hub. You need to run a USB cable from the computer to the monitor and they should work. They will probably run at USB 1.1 speeds, which is fine for a mouse.

      I checked the specs for that monitor and they don’t mention any USB ports. Are you sure they are present? Does mention a security slot, which is a place to fasten a cable to prevent theft.
