Windows NDIS Error Fix

I am trying to run windows 98 on a windows xp system but I keep getting System Protectiuon Windows NDIS ERROR which I understand is caused by a the use of a faster CPU with Win 98
Microsoft have wahed their hands and I am wondering if anyone out there can tell me how I may resolve this problem. The system will work in the Safe Mode.

      There is no need to change operating systems or to change processors!

      There is a HotFix for this. The KB Article linked above is the correct one, and all you need is the hotfix associated with it.

      Go here:
      http://www.mdgx.com/mshf.php

      enter the KB number 312108 in the form and click Submit, follow the steps and Microsoft will email you the HotFix.

      I have done extensive work with this particular issue. The HotFix corrects it for Windows 98, and it can also be corrected for Windows 95.
