Solved Can You Switch HP Pavilion Dv6 Laptops From 32-Bit To 64-Bit

i have a pavilion dv6 2111TcX running windows 7 home premium 32-bit platform. can it be switched to 64-bit platform in recovery mode or do i need to buy 64-bit software?

  1. You need to buy a 64-bit version of Windows if you want to run any 64-bit applications on it. However, 64-bit Windows can only be installed on a computer which has a 64-bit capable processor, so you need to check that first:

    Control Panel > Performance Information & Tools

    Click “View and print detailed performance and system information”

    In the “System” section, where it says “64-bit capable”, it will say “Yes” or “No”

    If it says “Yes”, you then need to make sure that HP has got 64-bit Windows 7 drivers for your model. If they have, you can buy & install Windows 7 64-bit.
