Comment:

Ever since I setup my "WIRED" Linksys router between my (2) computers and DSL connection, my "host" computer will occasionally come out of its STANDBY or sleep mode. Someone mentioned something about "wake on LAN", and checking for it.

If this is something that I need to check, how and where do I go to check this?

Could there be any other reason/s?

Thank you in advance for your time in responding and assisting!

Tony

The Wake on Lan setting is in the BIOS. What you should have is a power strip/surge protector that you use and shut the power off at the source.

Life's more painless for the brainless.

You mentioned "host" computer, did you enable Internet Connection Sharing on this computer? You don't need this and should disable it if you enabled ICS as you has router.
