Hi,
AFter returning from vacation on Sunday nite, I booted up my XP Home Edition system. It came up in 4 bit graphics
mode and the start button and task bar on the bottom was gone. I corrected the video mode but I can't get my start
button or task bar back!
Anyone know how to recover them?

Are you sure it's gone and that it's not a case of the taskbar being resized.
This has happened to me and all I had to do was drag the task bar up.
look for a thin grey bar at the bottom of your screen. If there is something there it's the top of your task bar.

No, it's definitely gone. I tried dragging it out and changing to high res video. It's not anywhere!
