Subject: Sending Duplicate E-mailsOS: XP(home ed) 2002 +SP2CPU/Ram: Celeron2.4Ghz 480mb |
Comment: Both e-mail systems (Office Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express) send duplicate e-mails to my mail recipients. A very few do not receive duplicates but the majority do. I was running AVG antivirus software and have just changed to Nortons, there seems to be no change in the duplication of e-mails (this wa suggested as a probable cause). This seems to have been going on forever. The other users of the computer (different logins) have no problems sending e-mails, it just seems to be me. I have created a new user login and this has made no difference, on the odd occasion one of my duplicate mail recipients may receive a single e-mail. Advice, help, questions? Kevin

Reply: (edit)What do you mean by creating a new user login? Do you mean a new user account? If other users can send mail without problems and you can't the simplest way to fix it would be to log in as admin and set up a new account and then transfer files to the new account and delete the old one. It is apparent to me that you tweaked something and finding that is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Reply: (edit)Hi, Yep, already tried that. I'm using the new account now and have been for the past few months. I copied the files over to the new account but couldn't delete the old one because it was an admin account. I might have copied the files over incorrectly or may a corrupt .DAT file? Any suggestions where I can go and check to make sure I completed it correctly? In fact, any suggestions at all?
