Today while working in Photoshop my computer clicked then.. had this blue screened error, Kernel System Error.

Before this happened I had my computer worked on by some techs due to it recently freezing up when I was working on it. They couldn't find a problem. Then when I got it back I found out that the sound wasn't working properly.

Are these things linked and if they are what would cause this error? Should I even work on it until I get it fixed?

I would do two things, look at the device manager for hardware conflicts and look at the event viewer for software errors.

I am not sure what I am looking for. So I'll just write what I saw.

Under the event viewer, all I saw for today under application was just Information and not an error.

Under system I had this: The software Cinemaster NT4.0 driver service failed due to not finding the file specified.
The RDpoab service failed to start.
The Netfcrv service failed to start.

I can't tell what would be a hardware conflict in the device manager.

I think your Event Log is fine. In Device Manager, conflicts would be shown by a yellow exclamation point beside a device.

Power supply problems are common and cause your symptoms. Bad power supplies can click and do all sorts of stuff.

I would take your PC to a different PC shop.

Well to let you know what happened....

The hard drive crashed and died. It sounded like popcorn when it was spining! At least I had my work on a second drive so my data is okay. But I have to get a new hard drive to run my OS.

Thanks for all of your help.

Oh and I went to a different shop this time..hoping for the best.

Wow that's amazing about your hard drive sounding like popcorn. I don't know, but it still could be the PS surging the drive causing it to burn. If you had another internal drive plugged in while you heard the popping sound, it probably would have burnt that drive out as well because they're both on the same rail. But that's just a guess. I doubt that happened too. Some drives pop and go out after much use. Perhaps that's what happened.
