Comment: With my new HP pavilion 563w, which has Windows XP, when I attach a .dst file, the recipient receives it as a text file. It is not a text file. It is an embroidery design (for an embroidery machine). I have no problem sending this type of file on my old computer, which has Windows 98. I have compared my Internet Explorer settings on the two and they are the same so I assume the problem is related to Windows XP. FYI, I have tried sending one of these files to myself using my new computer and using my old computer. It gets converted to a text file on the new computer but does not (it works right) on the old computer. FYI, I use Yahoo e-mail and I do not use OE. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them.

Reply: (edit)Also, the problem is not with the application. The recipients that use these files get them correctly when I send them from my old computer.

Reply: (edit)onw way around this is to zip it first, you might need a program like winzip to do that. the person receiving it if using xp wouldn't need anything extra to extract it, others would require winzip.

Reply: (edit)With Winzip it is like placing a letter inside an envelope. You email the .zip file that contains your .dst file and the person then uses Winzip to unzip what you sent to get the .dst file. They receive the .dst file just as you intended them to have it.
