Comment: We will be installing Office COmmunicator 2007 shortly. As part of the process is the schema upgrade. This is done one time and it replciates to all domain controllers. I am to wait until this replication before proceeding with the forest prep. How can I verify that this replication has occurred? Thanks

Reply: (edit)"This is done one time and it replciates to all domain controllers" This statement would be incorrect. The schema master fsmo role is only contained on ONE domain controller. You update only that controller. No replication required. Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/Teachin...

Reply: (edit)Sort of true. It would replicate to other forest if they existed. In most cases though, single forest, single schema master, no replication. You might actually consider stopping replication from the schema masters during the forest prep. That way, if things get messed up, you can seize the roll to another DC. Otherwise there is no easy way to recover from a faulty schema update.
