Is there a hit counter within IIS to tell how many times a button link has been pressed? I do not want to show this counter on the web page, this is for administrative purposes.

Not in that sense. You could enable logging, but parsing throught the logs will be quite tediou unless you have a tool to do it for you. Or you could iimplemnent some back-end code to do that as long as the server supports ASP, PHP or some other server-side language.
