Subject: ssh on new solaris 10 installOS: Solaris 10CPU/Ram: ultrasparc IIi/640mb |
Comment: Hi, I'm not familiar with solaris and am hoping someone can help me on this simple issue I'm having.. I tried search on the internet for answers but can't find anything. I installed solaris 10 no problem, very simple. Now I can login as root. I can create a new user account and login as them and everything works great. But how do I ssh? I tried sshing to the server and it's able to connect. But passwords don't work. I tried logging in as root and it says bad login. I tried logging in as newly created users and it says bad login... what do I do to make this work?

Reply: (edit)SSH is already installed on Solaris 10. Use the svcs command to determine if it is online. Check the manual pages (#man svcs) on it and the svcadm to determine how to turn services on and off. You can furter tweak and configure SSH in the /etc/ssh/ directory. - diver
