Comment:

G'day,

I have a strange problem on one of 3 enterprise 450 servers. All the servers are running Solaris 8.

On one particular server if I try and execute prtdiag -v from an account other than root I get the following error message:

prtdiag: cannot open /dev/openprom: permission denied

The command works fine on 2 out of three systems and as far as I can tell the permissions are the same on all three systems. Can anyone suggest a course of action to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Jay

Can you run 'eeprom' on all three boxes?
