Back drop: A partitioned of 11GB is made on 19GB HDD and installed Windows ME.
I want to retain my Windows and install Solaris 7 on the remaining space(approx 8GB).
Started Solaris 7 installation and stuck at:
CREATE SOLARIS FDISK PARTITION
There is no Solaris fdisk partition on this disk, you must create a Solaris fdisk partition if you want to use this disk to install Solaris software.
Two or three of the following methods are available: 1. have the software auto-layout the Solaris partition to fill the entire fdisk(which will overwrite any existing fdisk partitions),2. auto-layout the Solaris partition to fill the remainder of the disk(which will layout the Solaris partition around the existing fdisk partitions) 3. manually layout the Solaris fdisk partition.
(but it is showing only two options to choose as shown below)
* Auto-layout Solaris partition to fill entire disk(8002MB)
* Manually create Solaris fdisk partition
(It is showing only two options (i.e. 1 and 3) to choose but not 2nd option. If I choose any one of the options and start the Solaris installation, existing Windows OS will be over written. Is there any specific version of Solaris which will preserve existing OS
and install Solaris. Please help me any one knows!) Thank U in advance.
