Comment: I download Apache 1.3.27 on Solaris 8. When I run, apachectl start, I got an error message,"/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: syntax error at line 1: '(' unexpected". Anyone can help?. Thanks in advance. Sophie

Reply: (edit)Irish, I run command, "pkgadd -d apache-1.3.27-sol8-intel-local". Then I run, "apachectl start". I got an error message, "/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started" Can you give a suggestion?
