I download Apache 1.3.27 on Solaris 8. When I run, apachectl start, I got an error message,"/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: syntax error at line 1: '(' unexpected". Anyone can help?.

Thanks in advance.

How did you installed Apache? I have a link here that you can use as guide.

Irish,

I run command, "pkgadd -d apache-1.3.27-sol8-intel-local".

Then I run, "apachectl start". I got an error message,
"/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started"

Can you give a suggestion?

Thanks,
Sophie
