Comment: I have a Toshiba L30 - 10V with a Atheros AR5005G wireless networking adaptor with the latest XP driver from their UK website. For some reason it worked when the laptop was Vista Home Basic but when i downgraded to XP for speed reason the wireless adaptor fails to find the access point. Any help i would love. thank you

Reply: There should be a setting on the adapter in windows to tell it to look for an access point instead of the router.

Reply: i think ive found the cure guys. i got hold of a vista CD and put basic back on to see if that made a difference. the network was found straight away and problem apparently solved. after a couple of days it randomly stopped working. 4 restores and 2 driver updates later i tried changing the Channel that my router uses and voila that seemed to be the issue. Fingers croseed problem solved for good.
