Subject: CCC made nonbootable HD
OS: OS X 10.2.8
CPU/Ram: beige g3 233/128
Comment:

i couldn't get os x to install on a WD-8GB HD from
my brother's old PC, so i installed it on the original
HD (also WD-4GB). finally got os x to install after
taking out all the hardware upgrades. upgraded os x
with software update and used CCC to transfer
everything onto the newer HD (partitioined w/1 GB
for os 9 and 6.8 GB for os x). then i set the new HD
as the startup disk. when the computer was starting,
i get the smiling computer, then it reboots and boots
into the old HD. tried switching the connectors to
the HDs and still the same problem. repaired the
permissions on the new HD to no avail.

i have frequent crashes with the old HD, so i thought
i'd try the new one and see it works any better. i'm
thinking that it might be the ram causing the
crashes, but i don't see how that could affect CCC
copying os x onto the new HD...

on g3s and other OldWorld machines, you need to
select "Bless OldWorld target disk" from the file
menu for the cloned disk to be bootable.

solved my probem!! nice!!
