Comment: Hi, I am trying to do the IP masquerade and I need to find the Kernel tree, can anyone help please! I am using Redhat 7.3 and kernel is 2.4.18. I tried to find it in /usr/src/linux, but there is no such file as "linux". Thank you

Reply: It looks like you didn't install the source when you install Linux! Just download a copy from www.kernel.org and unpack it in /usr/source/linux... Lawrence

Reply: Hi, Thanks for your solution, Lawrence. But one thing I am confuse is if I am using the kernel 2.4.18-5 in my Redhat Linux computer. Is that kernel 2.4.18-5 is the source already? (sorry I am still a newbie for the Linux). So in the future, what do I need to choose if I want the source during new installation? Thank you

Reply: It should be a compile kernel not source! Normally, it would install the kernel source for you but if not, you can always download it for your system. Shouldn't be that hard. By the way, I believe you have the latest stable kernel. Lawrence
