hi

i'm looking for a small light laptop that'll run linux. all i need it to do is watch youtube (i can get a wireless card), wordprocessing, playing gameboy games and such. something cheap (under $200) is nice, and with good battery life (with a new battery of course, which i'm willing to buy on top of the $200).

i've read about some distros, and i hear that xubuntu is pretty good. lightweight, but lots of ubuntu features.

what kind of specifications should i be looking for to do what i want? any modles one would recommend so that i have good out of box support (i have looking for drivers, not a linux expert).

Have you priced laptop batteries? Many are well over $100.

Xubuntu is basically Ubuntu, but it uses the Xfce desktop environment instead of Gnome.

xubuntu is good, but xfce is crap. kde for the win... or gnome if you must.
