Subject: Transparencies not working right
OS: Slackware 10.2
Comment:

I am running Slackware 10.2 with the Fluxbox GUI. i am trying to get tranparencies to work, but im having some problems.

i set the background using "fbsetbg /pic" in the theme config file. when i restart X, it doesnt show up. so i put that command in the init file for fluxbox. it loads, but i only have transparencies in the first workspace. it doesnt work on any of the other ones. it uses wmsetbg as the wallpapersetter. i think this is where my problem is. but, i already tried changing programs, it doesnt let me.

i have tried to use bsetbg -f before and it only works when i type the command in bash, not from the scripts. but, it doesnt give me transparencies either.

try using esetroot easiest way to get it is install eterm. Im almost certain that'll fix your problem. certain wm's cant do pseudo transparancys

Nothing's broken until you choose not to fix it.
