Google has introduced the Fitbit Air, its latest screenless health monitoring device carrying a $99.99 price tag. The tracker represents Google’s most compact Fitbit offering and delivers the brand’s first hardware release since 2023.
The wearable features a compact, detachable pebble-shaped sensor that fits into interchangeable bands. Its screen-free design keeps the device minimalist and comfortable for continuous wear throughout day and night.
The Fitbit Air monitors continuous heart rate, cardiac rhythm with atrial fibrillation detection, oxygen saturation, baseline heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep cycles, and total sleep time.
The device delivers battery performance lasting up to seven days. Quick charging provides 24 hours of operation with just five minutes of charge time.
Gemini-Powered AI Coaching Integration
The tracker pairs with Google Health Coach, an artificial intelligence assistant operating on Google’s Gemini infrastructure. The coaching system delivers customized fitness programming, dynamic exercise suggestions, and performance recovery analysis.
Each Fitbit Air purchase includes a complimentary three-month subscription to Google Health Premium, providing access to complete AI coaching capabilities. Continued access to these premium features requires maintaining a paid subscription beyond the trial period.
Google Health Coach will conclude its public preview phase and launch internationally on May 19.
The tracker offers compatibility with both Android and iOS platforms. Users can also synchronize it with a Pixel Watch, alternating between devices while maintaining complete data continuity.
NBA Star Collaboration Edition
Google collaborated with basketball champion Stephen Curry to create an exclusive limited release. The co-created Performance Loop band arrives in rye brown and game-day orange color options.
Curry had been photographed wearing the tracker in public appearances during the weeks leading up to the official announcement.
The collaboration edition carries a $129.99 price point and reaches U.S. retail outlets on May 26. Pre-orders are currently open through the Google Store and Amazon.
The core Fitbit Air model is also available for advance purchase at $99.99. Additional band options begin at $34.99 and span multiple designs, including a moisture-resistant Active Band and a refined Elevated Modern Band.
Google positions the Fitbit Air as an alternative to subscription-dependent trackers like Whoop, which mandates an annual membership ranging from $169 to $349 for basic functionality. The Fitbit Air operates without mandatory subscriptions, though accessing complete AI coaching tools requires Google Health Premium membership.
Wall Street analysts maintain a Strong Buy consensus rating on Alphabet, Google’s parent company, reflecting 28 Buy recommendations and five Hold ratings issued during the previous three months. The consensus price target of $426.44 suggests approximately 8% growth potential from present trading levels.
