I have set up my adsl connection and when i sart it this is what happens.
[root@trends] /root]# adsl-start
................TIMED OUT
[root@trends] /root]#
And thats it. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. On my hub the light is green and my nic is configured. Can some one please help me out with this problem.
when i also run netcfg and try to acivate eth0 interface under the proto bootp i get Determining Ip information for eth0...... Operation Failed.
When i do it for proto dhcp i get
Determining Ip information for eth0...... Operation Failed.

When i do it for proto none i get
ipcalc: ip address expected
ipcalc: ip address expected
ipcalc: ip address expected
broadcast: Host name look up failure
netmask:Host name look up failure
When i run ifconfig to set up my netword card, it does not assign me an ip address. I use RedHat 7.0

Make sure that you set your hostname to the same as you were using under windoze.

They use that to authenticate you to get an IP address via DHCP.

I think!

Type 'hostname' from shell and see if it's correct.
