Comment: I have set up my adsl connection and when i sart it this is what happens. [root@trends] /root]# adsl-start ................TIMED OUT [root@trends] /root]# And thats it. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. On my hub the light is green and my nic is configured. Can some one please help me out with this problem. when i also run netcfg and try to acivate eth0 interface under the proto bootp i get Determining Ip information for eth0...... Operation Failed. When i do it for proto dhcp i get Determining Ip information for eth0...... Operation Failed. When i do it for proto none i get ipcalc: ip address expected ipcalc: ip address expected ipcalc: ip address expected broadcast: Host name look up failure netmask:Host name look up failure When i run ifconfig to set up my netword card, it does not assign me an ip address. I use RedHat 7.0

Reply: (edit)Make sure that you set your hostname to the same as you were using under windoze. They use that to authenticate you to get an IP address via DHCP. I think! Type 'hostname' from shell and see if it's correct.
