Comment: I just picked up one of those "all-in-one" devices; an HP PSC1315 Printer/Scanner/Copier. I'm thrilled that all the functions work in Linux. Curious problem though. Let's say the first thing I do after booting up is print. If I then want to scan, I can't unless I power off and then power on the unit. If I scan, I have to cycle power again in order to print. ...and so on and so on.... It's like some service is coming on and staying on and is only reset by cycling the power to the device. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to "fix" it?

Reply: (edit)Is it possible to echo a reset command directly to the printer port? Sorry I can't be more precise, it depends on whether you are using PJL, PCL, postscript etc....
