Comment: Hello community, At the moment I have serious problems with my notebook. When I changed my RAM (DDR2) to 2x1 GB I could use the computer for some time. After a week with the new RAM, I had problem to turn it on ( despite the fact that the RAM fulfilled the requirements for the mainboard.) ...finally after 10 times of switching it on and off I could boot the notebook. Later, when I set the machine on standbye-mode and trying to awake it from the standby mode, a bluescreen came up telling me that the HD is checking, then it crashed. Trying to reboot was not successful, then I changed again to my old RAM, but it still do not work... The machine is not able to enter BIOS. The computer just starts, fans and HD are running but that's it. If a CD is insert, it's also running for a few moments but then it stops....maybe a hardware problem ? I'm very grateful if someone can help me.:) Thanks you in advance for your hints, suggestions , etc. ! Musashi PS: Sorry for my bad English. :)

Reply: (edit)Bad ram from people that do not prevent ESD. "Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

Reply: (edit)Dear all, thanks for your quick answers! :) No, the notebook is running via power supply not via battery. Changing to battery does not change the effect. :( @jefro: are you really sure, that the motherboard is broken due to a ESD? I hear a fan running and the CD-drive is running too. Would it also not respond, when the board is broken?
