CPU/Ram: 2.4/1gb

when i try to play wma's and other video formats on all websites that have them, a warning window comes up saying in the top bar "npdsplay" and in the box it says "can not create DirectShow Player". also my windows media player doesnt work. someone told me this has to do with installing Firefox but installing firefox on my other comps didn't have this problem. what can i do? is this a driver problem? thanks
