Reply: (edit)ok guys here is your solution for opti audio 16 drivers if u have windows 98 go to your control panel click add new hardware then click where it says next. at that point it will search for new devices when u get to the screen that asks u if the device is on the list click where it says no device is not on list and on the next screen choose where it says "no i want to choose hardware from list" then click where it says sound video and game devices or controllers on te next list shown then click have disk put your win98 cd into ur cdrom drive and pick the driver from the win98 cd in drivers/audio/opti/ in that directory u will find 2 driver folders 931 and 933 install 931 then reboot but at this point ur sound wont work cause that really isnt the driver u need but u need to go thru that to build the driver data base after u reboot un install the driver u installed and then install the 933 driver reboot same thing again u will get no sound but... now u have fullly built the driver data base for opti audio uninstall the second driver u installed and go to add new hardware again this time when u get the point where i lists the devices click sound and video controller then from the list provided u will see opti listed as a choice for sound the driver will be named opti plug and play audio device or something like that install that driver and reboot when u reboot u will see other things bieng installed because opti audio 16 is really like 4 different devices when pc is done finding new hardware and installing it ur sound will work just fine . good luck people these drivers are the worst i have ever dealt with well a close 2nd place to the ibm mwave audio drivers *=] ALSO i know for a fact this works as i installed these drivers on a friends old pc 2 days ago and the sound is working just fine hope this helps
