Comment: Each time I start-up I receive an error message:
The BATMETER.DLL file is linked to missing export SETUPAPI.DLL: SetupDiGetDeviceInterfaceDetailA
I understand this is a missing driver? Could someone tell me, in layman's terms where, exactly, I can find this driver, what it's called, and how to fix my system. My sound card isn't working and I think this is why? Comments?

Reply: (edit)Me also. It started today, Dec 20, after loading 4 programs. 3 went fine, but had difficulty during install with Clean System Directory and had to abort the install and do an uninstall. I think the Batmeter is for the battery on my laptop, but I no longer have the volume control on taskbar and can't get the volume control back. Went to Multimedia and checked box to reinstall volume onto taskbar. Didn't work. Any help appreciated.

Reply: (edit)Hi All, The message you're getting, "Batmeter.dll linked to missing setupapi.dll" means that the Batmeter.dll file won't work without the setupapi.dll file, so your programs don't work either. Your setupapi.dll file may have been deleted accidentally somehow, or perhaps it got corrupted in some way and the Batmeter file can't read it. At any rate, I have the setupapi.dll file and would be happy to send it to any of you who need it. Just email me that you still need it and I'll send it to you pronto! Nan
