If it's an upgrade just type d:\win95\setup at the c: prompt, assuming d: is your cd-rom. If it's a full version you should delete the system files or format your HD and boot from a startup disk with cd-rom support.

A:\ and B:\ are the letters for your floppy drives, then if you only have one HDD this will be the C:\ drive and D:\ for the CD-ROM.

If you have dos on it, type msd at the c: prompt then go to drives. It should identify you cd-rom drive letter (if cd-rom and drivers are properly installed).

That means your system files, io.sys, msdos.sys (hidden files) and command.com don't match the version of dos commands you are using. Is your dos 6.22 an upgrade or full version?

Minh, if the cd is a full version you can boot from your cd-rom if you have that option. If not, boot from a floppy startup disk with cd-rom support. At the a: prompt type e:\setup. E will probably be your temporary drive letter for your cd-rom.
If you have an upgrade windows disk you'll need to install an operating system first. You might try typing sys c: at the a: prompt and then e:\setup. I'm not sure if that will work. If not you can install dos and the cd-rom dos drivers. This can be complicated if your hard drive is larger than 2 gig and you're new to all this.
What kind of computer and hard drive do you have?

dont know if anyone is still reading this but win 95 will not install or run on dos 6.22. the win95 cd will have dos 7.0 on it. it is not a full ver. of dos just the basic stuff to run windows. to install win 95 boot up and at c: type d: if d: is the letter of your cd drive if it is and you get invaled drive you need to install the dos drivers for it if you dont have a driver disk for it open up the com and get the name and part # of the cd drive and look it up on the web. any way if you get a d:prom or what ever drive letter it is type install and that is it win 95 will do the rest. and dont forget your oem #. hope this helps
