Subject: Will MSDOS 6.22 run on a Pentium II
Comment:

MSDOS 6.2 ran just fine on my Pentium 120 mhz computer. I was trying to gain speed and installed MSDOS 6.22 on a Pentium II 400 mhz computer.

Now, MoneyCount 7.5 will not run. WordPerfect 6.1 has memory problems and even though I have the DOS directory listed in my PATH in my AUTOEXEC.BAT file, typing in a DOS command does not work unless I'm in the DOS directory.

Can anyone help?

I do not know why you are having the problems you are, I have run MS-DOS on PII and PIII machines with no problems. Do not blame MS-DOS alone. Check your board settings and memory. Recheck your PATH statement as well!

Make sure that the path is correct in the autoexec. do an ECHO %path% at the dos prompt, any directory, and look for c:\dos (if that's where it is installed. You might what to do PATH=%PATH%;C:\DOS again if that is where it is installed.

Put the 6.2 you ran before on the Pentium II.
It is my theory that 6.22 is the first
operating system that had anti pirating flags in the software. It usually sets off Windows 95, but yours is trying to quit on you.

It has NOTHING to do with Anti-Pirating flags, It works 100% OK on my PII 400 with 2Gigabyte drive and 32MB of RAM. Some of my DOS applications are a bit fast! But man thats life!
