Subject: No DOS on new Fujitsu Lifebook?
OS: DOS
CPU/Ram: 1024

Hi all,

Following question:
Got new laptop Fujitsu Lifebook C series and wanted to make the Ghost image of the system partition.
(Of course, new processor INTEL Celeron Core Duo 2 in it...)

Much to my surprise I found that the boot CD with DOS doesn't start properly and there are some funny signs on the screen (only one half of line at the very top) and there is no DOS loaded.

This DOS boot CD functions OK on older laptops with Pentium 4.

What's wrong?
Is this maybe the new processor blame for it?

How to do any partition dump in such a case?

Any help highly appreciated!

Zennon

I can not even quess what you are having for a problem at this point, do bear in mind that there is a Barrier Limit when using PCDOS7 as it will only be able to see a drive that is smaller than 8.4gig, check this link and see if that can clear things up for you:

Sounds like a bad CD drive.

Ghost is a piece of garbage, Acronis uses Linux therefore does not have to rely on outdated PCDOS7 revision0, which is a Symantec version of IBM PCDOS7.
