I'm trying to fix my laptop with no end in sight. When i turn it on it boots up 2 error messages about PCI resource conflicts with the option to press F1 to boot or F10 for computer setup. The internal cd-rom doesnt work since this all started but i do have an external floppy that works fine. I was able to get the C prompt once in a great while by getiing to the A prompt. Its such a hassle. I tried to copy some important files from a: to c: but after putting about a meg of files on the c drive it said it was full, its a 6 gig harddrive. I make dos startup disks and super dos disks i find on the net but they all seem to fail. i get a message that says type the location of command.com so it can run dos. ya, ok over my head and below my knees i guess. I do have a nice usb external CD-ROM but after reading the box it came in its not dos compatable or some garbage. my dos superboot disk loaded some drivers that found it but i never got much past that. I have partition magic boot disks and other stuff i guess i just dont know what procedure to follow. any help/suggestions would be nice.

First take the F10 Computer Setup option. Look for a section on Plug and Play and PCI Setup. Then find an entry for PCI or PnP Configuration DATA. Select the option to clear this information. Then save the new Setup information and exit out of Setup and reboot the system. You have some hardware conflicts or errors and these have to be fixed or cleared up first. Clearing the BIOS PnP PCI Configuration data is the first step in getting some things working so you can see what else is broken or not working.

I went in my Bios and looked around for the PCI or PnP Configuration data. I had no luck finding anything. Nothing said PnP and only 2 thing said PCI. "PCI delay transaction" set to Enabled and "concurrent PCI/Host" set to Enabled

The 2 resource conflicts im getting are "PCI network controler on motherboard" and "PCI on motherboard"

anyway my laptop keyboard doesnt work so i have a usb keyboard.
