Reply: Hard drives are detected in BIOS. If the hard drive is recognised in BIOS then EDIT the CONFIG.SYS file to read LASTDRIVE= and insert the required drive letter, save,exit file and reboot.

Reply: x86 is correct. On a newer machine set the BIOS to Auto Detect Harddrives or set to 'Type 47' which does the same thing. Also ensure the the MASTER & SLAVE pins on each drive are correctly set. If you have two IDE cables, each with two connectors. Then one will be the 'Primary' Cable and one the 'Secondary' Cable. Then you can have a Master and Slave on each cable. The Master Harddrive on the Primary Cable will be Drive C:\

Reply: There are a few other things... MSDos 6.22 has a limiton the size of partiton 2 Gig or smaller. If the Drive is new you will have to use
fdisk and format. If the drive is Fat32 or NTFS formated
MSDos V6.22 will not see the partions or drives.
