Comment:

How can you clean one of the hard drives "heads" (i guess you call it) because there are some finger prints on the head and I think it might be messing me up when I try and format the hard drive. So is there anything to clean it??

You can't clean hard drive heads. They are sealed within the hard drive. Opening the hard drive to get to the heads will ruin it. Any particle, no matter how small, that gets inside the hard drive will ruin it and that is why they are sealed tight.

because there are some finger prints on the head and I think it might be messing me up when I try and format the hard drive.

Fingerprints contain oils (as do all skin surfaces) and will ruin floppy disk surfaces. If you mean that you handled your hard drive exterior, that shouldn't be a problem.

Hard drives weren't meant to be cleaned or opened. If yours needs cleaning then it's probably too late.

Sounds like you're going to need to get a new hard drive.

How do you know there is a finger print (or anything else) on your drive head? Modern hard drives are sealed when manufactured. Such a drive with a finger print on a head would be defective from the start.

Also, to know this information implies that the drive was opened and the head was handled. In this case the drive was destroyed at the moment of opening.

Can you clarify how you came to this situation and conclusion?
