well my 1000MHz Athlon thunderbird runs at 41-44C after playing unreal tournament 2003 for 2hrs solid, i use a thermaltake volcano 7 and arctic silver III, if my cpu was over 60C i would be worried. The chip won't give up untill 90-100C but it aint just the cpu that will be damaged if it blows.

50 to 60 is cool for the amd. Running games with a very good video card is not a good indicator of how well your heat sink is doing. The video card hauls most of the work. NOT the cpu. Unless you have an onboard video. Good way to test the heatsink is by going on the internet and running a java applet that is constantly refreshing. Like a live web cam. It uses
nearly 100 percent of your cpu time. Java heats up my cpu by 3c. I might see a 1c jump on games. Midtown madness....Madden 2002. But i have a pretty good video card.
